Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. My daughter has just bought a C3 but I will be doing any repairs. Ive already worked out that not being able to manually lock all the doors with the key is normal on this model. My question however is, do I have to remove the front bumper in order to replace the lower grill, is it just clipped in or fastened with screws or bolts? Haynes manual does not say. Also any tips for removing bumper if necessary?

Anyone please. I did ask nicely. Thankyou in anticipation of your reply.

Hi steveo59
I will see if I can get a diagram to see what fixings it has
Its a remote central locking, so use the buttons on the fob. The key blade is for the ignition and on the very odd occasion is used to unlock the car if the battery is flat or BSI locked-up.steveo59 wrote:Ive already worked out that not being able to manually lock all the doors with the key is normal on this model.
I have not had to remove the lower grille on a 2007, but it does look like its going to be a lot easier with the bumper off the car.steveo59 wrote:My question however is, do I have to remove the front bumper in order to replace the lower grill, is it just clipped in or fastened with screws or bolts? I don't see any fixings for it, so its going to be clipped it. One of those things that become crystal clear on how easy it is to remove only after doing the longer job of removing the bumper.
If your existing one is smashed, it may be quicker to break it and remove it in 2 parts and then you can get a good look at the clips that hold it in and find their secret release

Hi, just wanted to say thankyou for the reply. The diagram seems to show the lower grill as being clipped in and it also shows where the screws are for securingthe bumper. Very handy, thankyou.

I hope its of use to you. It would be great if you could feed back your experience of removing the lower grille on a facelift 2006 -2009 C3steveo59 wrote:Hi, just wanted to say thankyou for the reply. The diagram seems to show the lower grill as being clipped in and it also shows where the screws are for securingthe bumper. A somewhat belated reply to this thread from a new user!
I have no idea whether Steveo59 will get a notification of this post, given he has contributed above but I am keen to know whether Steve did have to remove the whole bumper to replace the grill please?
Or indeed, if there is another person out there who can answer that then very much appreciated thanks.
PS I did look to see if I could contact him direct but that does not look to be possible.
Many thanks in anticipation.
Cheers, Keith
