Hi there, does anyone know the torx bolt size which attaches the caliper carrier to the hub? Got as far as being ready to remove the carrier only to see the bolts were torx head (female recess) not conventional hexacon.

Thanks

Hi
I've just done my 1.4Hdi and the fit was a T55. I used a half inch torque long armed wrench as they are very tight... 125lbsft when originally fitted, I think. Make sure it's properly in before you go for it, you don't want to bust the head.
Good luck

Alan

Thanks for info - I've ordered a trio of 1/2" drive male sockets T50,55 and 60 just in case.

Good idea.

There are 2 different fixings used, depending on year. Early cars have a different head to torx, but it looks similar.

OK - just reread Haynes manual and they are adamant that the carrier bolts should be discarded on removal and new replacements must be used. Are they stretch bolts? I remember replacing Fiesta cylinder head bolts when renewing the head gasket, as they were stretch bolts, but I've not come across this bolt replacement when doing brakes before.

Thanks

The yoke to hub bolts are 4405.47 BRAKE CALIPER FIXING SCREW 12X150-36

The ones that should be replaced are the bolts that hold the caliper to the yoke and replacements are often supplied with Citroen C3 brake pads in a kit with the shims. You should change these bolts (they have pre-applied thread lock) and the shims when you do a pad change. They are removed with a 13mm ring spanners and a slim 15mm open-ended to stop the slider from rotating.

But you will also find those bolts in the yoke seal and runner refurb kit that may be necessary if the seals are damaged or the grease contaminated.
