Hello there,
Since last night I have noticed that when my car is locked (using the fob), the red light on the central locking button is flashing. All of the doors appear to be locked. The flashing stops when the car is open. I've tried manually locking the door using the key - the front driver's door locks but the others stay open. However, when I do this the flashing light stops. Any ideas what this light could be indicating? The light has flashed all night, but my car has started and driven fine this morning.

It may be completely irrelevant, but yesterday my brakes were making a strange noise. Popped it into a garage for advice and they think I need some new brake pads. These 2 issues have come on at the same time - could they be related in any way?

I'd be grateful for anyone's advice! Thanks.

Hello Ash_M

The red light is supposed to flash, it's indicating that the car is locked and the 'security system' is working.

Strangely to me, the light flashes whether you have a factory fit alarm or not.

The red light isn't particularly bright, my guess is - that like me - you didn't notice it previously.

Oh and it's nothing to do with brakes.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried
