I'm looking for the position where Citroen fit fire extinguishers in the C3?

I've found a parts diagram showing an extinguisher and a cover piece which looks like some sort of fabric. The diagram doesn't give any clues as to where its fitted.

A description, or better still, a photo would be much appreciated. :D

Hi Missing Lincs

I wasn't aware there is an option for a fire extinguisher on the citroen C3.
Do you know which country had this as an option?

Before I go and look, what shape and year C3 did you have in mind (MY) for fitting the fire extinguisher to?

Its a 2004, normal 5 door C3.

My guess, and it is a guess, is that it fits on the panel under the boot opening. Just not sure as this would involve drilling into the panel and I'm too new to C3s to know what's behind.

AFAIK the parts for this are available for any country but only looks like 'emergency' kit is standard in some european countries. A warning triangle appears to be part of the same part group.

I have had a good look into the old shape C3 accessories and the fire extinguisher doesn't show up.

The 'Warning Triangle & Safety Vest Kit' is part number 9468 30, but no extinguisher is included.

There is a 'universal' extinguisher in the citroen accessories list:

But I can't find an 'official' place to mount it.

My suggestion would be find one (or 2) smaller ones and stow them in the under seat storage trays
A small one like this one on Amazon (here) may just fit.

I was thinking about the underseat idea. I don't have an underseat tray on the passenger side so I was wondering about a bracket from the seat frame so the extinguisher is always just under the front edge of the seat (as Volvo and other manufacturers do).

Out of interest the part numbers are 6701 53, 34 and 51.

not that im certain on this but in my boot there are 2 white plastic grommets/plugs on the rear boot valance just under the plastic boot trim and looking at the diagram id say the screws #70 would screw into them plugs would be handy to know distance between fire extinguisher bracket holes they may just match.

Hi Matthew, I'd forgotten about this topic, thanks for the information.

I also suspected that this might me the intended fitting position but the bracket for the extinguisher I got had different hole spacing, in the end I fitted the extinguisher under the passenger seat. I made a plate to fit one of the cross bars and fixed the mounting bracket to it. The extinguisher sits just under the front edge of the seat.
