A couple of questions that I'm sure someone will know that has changed this before. I am changing the drivers side wing mirror as its damaged beyond repair.
I have popped the door cover off and it looks like I need an extra deep socket to remove the old one. Is it 13mm as it looks luke that and i have ordered one but want to know if this is correct?
Also do I need to drill out the speaker surround rivets to get the cable and cable grommet out?
Many thanks.

I would say it is a 13mm socket for the M8 nut (70)
I don't know about the speaker though.

If your mirror wiring disappears behind the speaker, simply drill off the tops of the rivets, let the speaker hang as you will be able to deal with the wiring. To replace use new pop rivets or plastic equivalents.
