Who knows if the lock in the door you have been offered is ok? I don't see any problems if everything in the door you have been offered is working but if its not then some stuff won't work. Obviously? You will need the key to the lock on the door you have been offered so you can lock or unlock if the C/L stops working

03 and 04 doors are the same, some have different options like dead locking, I think electric windows were standard at the front? If not you will need to check for a window winder ;) Interior door trim came in different colours to match the interior. But I have never changed a door on a C3 so I can't point out any pitfalls that I have come across. It looks like a 2 man job though :) :)

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, the window is electronic on new door and also came with a key for lock which I tested before buying on other car, it just does not have inner panel or mirror which I'm taking off old door. I'm not to bothered about dead locking on door I just wanted to know if my Keyfob button would still lock the new door with it having a different lock in etc. And just using manually using the key when I run into any problems with central locking like my previous mistakes haha

AFAIK deadlocking is standard but I would check. Deadlocking is controlled by the BSI, if it doesn't see what it's expecting it may generate you another error :(
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Yeah it's all setup in BSI for dead locking, is replacing a door an easy job or something I should have a professional do with lining it up etc as my old door is lower then actual car frame which makes it now lined up when closing.

Its a 2 man job or 3 man if you have extra people available as its quite heavy and you can't hold it while putting the screws in.

A professional door fitter? I guess that would be a body shop. I don't know how mechanically minded you are, so I couldn't guess if you could put the 2 bolts in and align the door and lock by eye. But as I said before, you can't do it on your own.

There is come wiring loom to disconnect and reconnect too, so that will require unclipping from somewhere in the car or door. Are you able to do this?

I don't understand, do you have a photo to explain the problem please?

Yes. At least lexia is available to disable deadlocking if it does generate an error :)

Thanks, I see. You should be able to adjust the hinge by slackening the bolt and lifting the door. That is what person number 2 is for, taking the weight of the door while the other person nips up the bolts.

Is the door at the maximum of its adjustment? and that is the reason you can't get it to fit?

Oh, sorry, is this the original door? You bought the car and the door was bent? I don't know what you have there, but if you swap door for door you will end up with the same (unless your door is bent and the new one isn't)???

It looks like its been in a smash, is it cat D on the V5 - logbook?
