I've suddenly noticed that this small snap-in plastic trim surrounding the keyhole is missing. It's not the type of thing that would normally fall off and I've never actually used the key in the keyhole. I think I would have to be incredibly unlucky for someone to have prised it off, but how do I order a replacement? It's less than two inches long but I'm sure it will cost a hell of a lot more than it could possibly be worth. My 2015 1.6HDi Blue is grey in colour but I don't think it's a colour-coded part, just grey plastic with a chrome-effect panel. Is there anybody who can supply me with a part number? A source would also be nice if you know of one.

Hi

Probably best to contact Citroen parts department.

Give them your reg or vin if they ask and the system will bring up the right part.

A picture of the part missing and from the other door with it showing may help someone identify it for you, if you wanted to source one yourself.

Thanks - will do. It's just that knowing how much the official versions of these insignificant looking bits of plastic can cost I was hoping to find an alternative source.

Never again will I buy another Citroen. I was told I can't buy the little piece of plastic I require. Oh no - I have to buy the entire door handle for £66 (it's bound to be plus VAT). So for the want of a quid's worth of plastic I now have a greatly devalued car, because as a matter of principle, there's no way I'm going to be ripped off like that.

Thanks

Have a look at this eBay (9101.HT) to check the suitability.

By coincidence, I already had that page open on another tab. It appears to be pale blue whereas I require the charcoal grey, but I'll follow it up anyway.

Including postage it works out at nearly £30 for two pieces of plastic, which although cheaper than having to buy the complete door handle, is monumentally expensive for what they are. It seems that the pale blue colour is primer, but how on earth would you go about spraying something like that? Would a tiny brush be a better bet?

Does anybody know if the part I require is common with any other models, such as the C4, or even some Peugeots? That might help me to broaden my search a bit, although the chrome trim might be a problem. If all else fails I might make do with a plain plastic version - providing I can find one that fits.

Mask off the chrome and rattle can the plastic. it doesn't look too tricky.
