Hi

Wife's petrol C3 2003 has a strange issue with front window. It stopped working when fully open. Button now works in opposite direction to the passenger side which is working ok.

It now works intermittently seems to not know where stop is either fully open or closed. Goes up stops with about 3 inch to go then opens. I have managed to close the window.

Is this a windows motor issue and will a replacement fix this. Anyone else had this issue.

Thank you for your time in reply oh and a happy 2019 to all Citroen owners.

Hello again c3po03

You could try swapping the two window switches. They are push fit into the console and the wiring plug is just a press the tab and remove.

I'm wondering if the driver's side switch is worn due to it getting more use then the passenger side?

I took the driver's side out of our daughter's C3 the other day, the two parts of the switch body had parted and there was dust, fluff and other crud between the moving part and the sensors below. I didn't go too much further into how the switch worked but it looks like it could be a series of magnets which move when the switch is operated.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Hi
Thank you for the great information. I will check the switch and post back either way.
The photos are a great help. I did see some information about having to lift the console both buttons fit in, but from the photos it looks like buttons can be lifted independently.

Thank you ,the information on this site is great. Thank you to people who run citroenc3owners.

If the buttons are difficult to remove from above, then split the centre console and that makes it easier - but - be careful as the wires are quite short :o

Hi
Car going to garage tomorrow, I have a theory it's the control module that attaches to the window motor.
I will update the results.

Hi
The garage has reported back and a replacement window motor and module required. These are all one unit. It's on order and will provide an update if this successfully fixes the issue.
So if you too suffer the symptoms described here this may fix your situation.

Hello

It was a window motor that was at fault replacement sort and fitted.

Just a question on the center console. It's been opened as part of the window motor fix. I seem to be having trouble to get both sections back together.

Is there a technique to get both pieces to clip together.

Thank you

Hi c3po03, while sat in the driver or passenger seat, lower the top over the gearstick shaft and then slot in the cover into the plastic furthest away from you (1). Then hinge down the other end of the cover and it clicks into place around the gear selector (2).

Getting (1) in correctly is probably the key to making all go back together.

Hello
Tried the technique in the picture above, everything lines up apart from round the gearstick rounded area. It just won't click back in to place.
