Hi all, first post coming in....
My question is: has anyone hardwired a Dashcam to their C3. I'm thinking of putting a Nextbase dashcam in but hard wiring it to the fuse box. I'm unsure what fuse to use or piggyback off. One can obtain a hardwire kit from dbay pretty cheaply, obviously other dashcams and fitting kit are available.
If any one has done this, i was wondering if they could upload a couple of pics showing what fuse they used & any other info they may feel is relevant in how to do it without blowing all the electrics :roll:

Hi Bill.

I hard wired mine to the cigarette lighter power connection in the centre console. Just piggy backed off the supply for it.

The cable runs under the steering wheel, up, behind the right hand grey plastic window trim and across inside the headlining.
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)

How to Hardwire Citroen C3 Dashcam (Nextbase Dashcam)

(as the same trick that Arfur Dent has done.)

Parts Required:

One of these hardwire USB kits (from ebay, here)

A couple of Scotch Loks

And some trim removal tools (amazon)

Then access the power cables in the centre console:

Run the cables from the camera to the centre console using the trim removal tools (above)

Scotch lock the live an earth in the centre console power socket to the USB hardwire kit (above)

Fit the dashcam and attach the new, hardwired power supply to it.
