Hi, I recently had my top strut mount changed due to a clunking noise, whilst that is now fixed I have a 80% slight creaking noise that come from the suspension. It happens pretty much all the time at all speeds etc.
It sounds like someone slightly jumping up and down on a spring, but a more non oiled creaking?
I have taken back to the garage, who said they couldn't see anything. They thought it was road noise, but it appeared as soon as the car touched all 4 wheels on the ground.
You can hear it if you turn the wheel left/right stationary as well.
It's driving me mad!
Should they have greased something?
Thanks

Hi
There are no grease points or anything that should have been greased on the suspension.
It is not often worth just changing a top mount because the strut needs to be removed for access.
So while the strut if off, replace all the items, damper, spring etc. Basically each side will get a full rebuild.
This means all the parts are new with no old worn parts attached to new parts.
Then all the parts will start wearing at the same rate.
The garage can't see anything wrong because there is probably nothing to see. The solution would be to strip it all out and fully rebuild.

Thank you for the reply, but surely that doesn't explain why now there is a constant creak?
I'm loathed to pay out and get all parts changed if this creaking continues?
Much appreciated.
