Hello...
Can anyone tell what happens if the coolant on C3 is changed for water...
My local garage put me a cambelt kit on today, they drained the coolant and replaced it with water and antifreeze...
They said it's just as good, that there's no problem...
Please can anyone give me advice on this subject.
Thank you.

Hi
Don't worry.
Coolant is just antifreeze and water.
You should probably have pink in there, if it's blue you may have the wrong stuff.
Edit, for a 2007 I would expect pink antifreeze/coolant on there .

Sure. Pink is the colour they usually add to OAT coolant when its made, different coolants/antifreezes have different colours to help identify it easily.
Your C3 must have an OAT coolant to meet what Citroen say you should have. The wrong antifreeze can corrode the engine, loose its protection too quickly (for the service schedule) or damage the head gasket. There is a topic on OAT coolants for the C3 in this topic (click here).
There are other colours that may be suitable, but blue is not one of them.
