Hi everyone, im at a loss
I just got my LEXIA up and running, i have bought 2 new keys for my C3 2012
When i try to program the keys i get a prompt to enter the confidential code, but i got my car used and the first owner lost both one of the keys and the card. i tried to contact my local Citroen dealership in denmark about this and they don't want to provide it to me, they told me they can do it with just the vin now, so i wouldn't need it for anything.
Can anyone please help me get my code? i really need the spare keys to work soon!

Don't buy a used C3 without the confidential key card showing the code. You can't program keys without it.
Citroen have access to the code, you need to contact them.
They probably want to program the keys for you

Maybe best to sell it on an buy another.

The PIN code can not be derived from the VIN. Citroen will use your VIN to look up the code on their computer (as Arfur said).
The code can be extracted from the EEPROM chips on either the engine ECU or the BSI but you will need soldering skills, a small amount of specialized equipment, software for your PC and knowledge of what needs to be done. Or find someone who can do it.
It might be expensive but Citroen have tied up the market. I would say this practice is illegal in most countries but good luck fighting it. Citroen will claim "proprietary information". The governments of most countries are now bowing to the whims of big business, sighting "free enterprise". This means that a lot of markets are closing up. Like the corner mechanic who will not have access to this kind of information.
The other option is to get a locksmith to "clone" your original key. There is an RFID chip in the key that contains a code recognised by the engine ECU. The locksmith can copy this code to another key or RFID chip. The engine ECU will think your original and spare are the same key. You will need to go to a locksmith to get the key blade copied anyway (I assume). I do not know if locksmiths have the ability to clone the central locking RF transmitter. I don't think so but I could be wrong.
Unfortunately you cannot code in the transmitter for the central locking as that is done at the same time as coding in the RFID chip in the key and you cant do that with out the code (as you know). However you can still get into the car from the drivers door and starting the car will cancel the alarm or any other relevant security devices.
Remember the drivers door is not connected to the central locking and will not open any of the other doors but the button on the dash will.

I got my first Citroen in July 2007, and there was no confidential code with it. I seem to remember posts on Citroen forums concerning this code and I seem to remember that the cards had been discontinued by then. The info was to always get the code from an agent.

Try Timpsons - perhaps not the cheapest but they may have the expertise mentioned above by Oztvr.

You could also try Peugeot. They are part of the PSA group and should have access to that info. They might be a bit more sympathetic.
