Hi there

I've recently purchased a Pluriel 2007 with only 33k and up until last week it has been great fun. That is until I decided to re-centre the steering wheel; I managed to drop the airbag damaging the connector. After a bit of googling I realised I needed to replace the Comms unit (part number 96601441XT). I couldn't find the identical part number on eBay, but purchased an identical looking unit (96601446XT) and fitted it today. The airbag warning message/light comes on (it has done since I removed the airbag unit), and I hoped that when I put it all back together with the new part the message would go. So...
1) Do I just need to clear the fault message, and if so how do I do it?
2) Could the differing COM unit be causing the issue. I could swap the PCB from the old one but it would be quite involved.

Any help would be grateful received.

Thanks

Tim

Airbag fault light shows there is a current code stored.

To read the code is the same equipment as to clear the code, its all on the same screens found in Lexia tool for citroen (ebay here). It's a bit of hardware, software and a user supplied laptop. Read up on lexia tool here.

I don't know what you damaged, but it could well be down to the damage you did and you have not repaired it all yet?

Are you sure the steering wheel was off and its not a track rod end issue?
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)

Many thanks for the response. In terms of the COM unit, I didn't try and repair the unit and bought a replacement from eBay . I've ordered the cables/software but I see that the programme comes on a disc (I don't have a DVD drive unfortunately) - is there any trusted sites I can download the software?

Not sure about the track rod - it tracked straight so I suspect the tracking has been done previously but they didn't lock the steering wheel in place.

Cheers

Tim
