i brought a 2002 citroen c3 1.4 lx last week and have a problem with one of the back doors, the door behind the drivers door seems to have a child lock on it that i dont know how to take off, the door behind the passenger seat opens from the inside but the other one dosnt, my last car (not a citroen) had a little metal thing in the door that you moved up or down to put the childlock on or off, this has a plastic thing that sticks out that looks like you should put a key in it but the key dosnt fit and i tried (gently) with a knife but it didnt seem to move and i didnt want to force it
is there something simple i should be able to do to take the child lock off?
i have pressed the lock button in the car and it makes no difference
any help will be appreciated :D

Hi Tink,

I think you have one of these child locks on the door,

The black thing that looks like you can poke a key into it (with the icon of a child and a lock) isn't a child lock! It doesn't do anything.

The child lock is electronic and controlled by this button on the dashboard

There is a child lock relay that controls the child locks,

But if its only one door, then its probably wiring to the door, at the door or the door control solenoid unit. Have a look here for how to get to the door solenoid pack Rear Door Lock removal (for buzzing locks) topic

You can often find the locking solenoid mechanisms here -- Citroen C3 Door Locks - on eBay
