Hi everyone,

Does anyone know whether I can replace the bonnet catch on my 2007 C3 with a pre-facelift bonnet catch? I had to replace my bonnet but unfortunately the first bonnet I bought is for the pre-facelift, but it’s the only one I’ve found that has the right paint colour (onyx black) and is in good condition, and the next one I ordered has paint damage and isn’t the right black (too much metallic).

I want to get the first one on if I can, but the latch on the bonnet is either too long or too short for my car (can’t remember which way) because of it being from a pre-facelift, so if I put a pre-facelift bonnet catch, then maybe that would make it compatible?

Also, if anyone can answer that, would you know how easy it is to replace the bonnet catch?

Cheers,

Chris

Hello Chris

The part numbers for 'bonnet lock' that is the part that the cable connects to and is mounted just behind the grille change on the production date of 30 September 2007.

So from this I would say the parts differ, but it doesn't indicate how much they differ or if they can be retro-fitted.

They may have just made improvements in the design. But the parts do look similar on the diagrams.
