Remote key locks all 4 doors and boot fine. However manually opening the passenger door by hand (without using key!) unlocks the whole car.

So my car is not secure and anyone can currently unlock it if they were to try their luck with the passenger door. Trying all the other doors will not work as they remain locked. But trying the passenger door unlocks the whole car!!

Please could someone advise what is likely to be the problem and how I resolve this?

Thanks

Hi

Is it a 2011 or a 2002 to 2006 model?

You have both listed as your current car.

I've the same issue with my passenger side door.. Doesn't lock or unlock if I use the key in the drivers side or if I use the remote..
But If I lock/unlock the passenger door with the key manually then it works..

So the issue is only with the remote fob with the passenger door..

Had a similar problem with a rear door. After locking the car with the fob, the rear door did not lock and opening the rear door unlocked the other doors!

The locking mechanism was replaced (luckily under warranty) and the problem was solved.

Hello Rex.

Thank you for the solution that fixed your C3 Central Locking Problem.

It is an unusual fault and having a probable solution is a very useful piece of information.

I am sure it will be helpful to others facing a similar problem and give them some hope of fixing the Central Locking :D

The door locking solenoids are similar, yet different across the years. There is a topic here - C3 Rear Door Lock removal (for buzzing locks) has pictures of the door locking solenoid mechanism and its removal for early models which can help for later years and models too.

Replacement C3 Picasso Door solenoid lock packs are available here.
