Hi Guys,
I have a friends C3. The central locking isn't working so i found this very useful guide here:
tips-for-any-citroen-c3-f8/central-lock ... t1839.html
As per the guide i haven't fully removed the BSI but i took the plug out and injected 12v to Pin 15 as per this matrix below. I can hear the central locking motor but only the offside rear door unlocks and not the passenger or rear passenger door these stay locked.
I believe the fault maybe elsewhere or should i replace the top board and/or relay from the BSI? Don't want to replace to find out this was not the issue.
The BSI part number is 9652474380 and S118085300 now i have found a part which is 9650585680 but the S118085300 is the same number, question is will this have the same top board. It looks like it has the same connectors?

Thank you,

Hi
If you have the spare (donor) BSI already, you can change that without separating the boards to test the locking. You won't be able to start the car but you can test the locking.
But as you say, if only one lock works when you manually activate them with 12v, it probably isn't going to be the BSI faulty, but anywhere from the solenoid packs to the wiring loom back to that plug.
Same connectors will have the same top board, if its from the same year and model of C3.
Not much changed until 2006 when the BSI is completely different.

So today unclipped bsi from location tested fuses went to put drivers window up and wouldn't work... Tried starting car and cranks but no start. Had to put power to electric window to get it back up.
Checked plugs on bsi all seem solid. What software do I need to use as I have the Peugeot planet lead?
Thank you

Have you fixed this problem?
I am not sure that you will get any information out of LEXIA as the BSI appears to be dead. I don't know what you might have done.
Do the instruments display anything?
On the BSI:
Check for permanent power at pins 1 and 2 of the grey connector.
With the ignition 'on' check for power at pin 3 of the 16 pin green connector and pins 1 and 2 of the 2 pin black connector.
Check for ground at pins 6 and 8 of the 16 pin green connector.
Did you pull the BSI apart? If so, did you seat the PCB interconnectors fully?

Thanks Ozvtr
Unfortunately, still have an issue. So I've checked the Live, switch lives and grounds and they are all checking out ok. Although before this I took the BSM out and checked all Maxi fuses too and they are good too.
I got donor BSI so swapped eeproms, plugged in and exactly the same.
Diagbox didn't work but when I tried autocom I got P1612 Immobiliser system malfunction. See attached...
Not sure what else to check now, all other fuses are good too...
Unable to do bsi reset as central locking or windows not working...

Even though the EEPROM has been removed from the BSI, the BSI should do 'something'.
Not sure but most things should work except the security features. Engine won't start (of course) but most of the stuff, like windows might work.
Hang on, which BSI is which? Is it the original or the donor that doesn't work? Or both?
Either way, one of them should do something. Even with the EEPROM removed. You will get some "funny" results, but it should do something.
That DTC is just because the engine ECU is not getting the security code from the BSI. But that figures because the BSI is dead.
One fault that I have seen with the BSI's is that the "fingers" of the interconnects between the 2 boards can have bad contacts. I have seen people solder these fingers to the relay PCB to get a solid connection.
If neither of the BSI's work, then either there is a power supply problem or BOTH BSI's are faulty. If you are sure that the power supplies are OK then you need to look closer at the BSI's.
You have to be careful with changing the EEPROMS. Different revisions of the BSI's have DATA put in different places on the EEPROMs. This will give you random problems with the BSI because it's looking for data in the wrong places on the EEPROM.
I don't believe your problem is associated with the EEPROM. Just saying.

Hi Guys,
So, original eeprom was corrupted in BSI, I used the donor eeprom and virginised it. I didn't have pin for the car to program donor bsi so removed ecu and read the eeprom and i have the pin now too.
The windows are working now which is a result but still no communication to BSI. I am trying to use lexia and it asks for the RPO number which i have looked for but assume this is on nearside door which still isn't opening.
I have checked the service book but it isn't on there either. How else can i get the RPO number as i believe this is why i maybe seeing no dialogue. I read somewhere to put 00000 in but not working for me.
Thank you

RPO is just a date. You can work it out but close is good enough.
The RPO to date calculator is in this topic
But for a 2002 `2003 you can use 9580 as a quick entry.
