Anti theft has came up on the dash but car won't start. I believe its the transponder in the key, has anyone had this issue?

I haven't got a spare key and the car won't start, i'm in a remote area in France and the possibility of getting someone out to programme a new key won't be an option.

I have a Lexia, is it possible for me to buy a key online and programme it to the car?

Hi kimb3r

You have lexia, that is great.

Do the key key reprogramming thing in lexia and obviously just program your only key back into the car.

This can prove if your key transponder s faulty or not.

If it is not faulty, you can start the car.

If it is faulty, you can get another transponder and program that to the car.

If you need to do this please open the key clam and take clear photos of the key internal (the board etc) and attach them to the forum following these instructions.

Hi,

Thank you for your message.

Just got round to installing and trying this today.

The full diagnosis shows no faults and when I enter into BSI it doesn’t give me any more options.

The car now says economy mode when ignition is on and the car won’t turn over, it almost went a couple of times with quick start spray but I was at the end of my can and ran out. I’m in the mountains and it’s winter, the car hasn’t started for a month.

You need to look deeper into lexia. See the screen shots above and follow boxes at the top. From left to right follow the menu to end up at the same place.

You can do a lot more diagnosis than you have to check for immobiliser pairing, non starting. You can clear eco mode when immo is paired and the engine starts.

If the engine won't turn over, check the battery charge.

There is a fuse for the starter and there is a faulty starter itself

But if you have been running lexia, and can't start the car, you probably have a depeled battery.

The immobiliser transponder is the copper coloured chip, top right. It is attached to the board, unlike the early cars that have a removable and replaceable chip separate from the board :(

Thanks for replies.

I changed the car type to C3R and we are getting results now.

I need the car confirmation code which is nowhere to be seen to access the keys. Will contact Citreon on Monday morning for the code and keep people updated.

Do you have the PIN code for the engine ECU?
