Hi folks. I have read a few of the other posts regarding boot opening issues on here but mine looks to be slightly different. I've been having issues with opening my car boot for a few weeks now. It started with me intermittently having to hold the unlock pad for 3 - 5 seconds to get the door to open, but as of Friday I can’t get it open at all. If it just stopped then that would be something but as it has built up over a few weeks then I’m a bit lost. I’m guessing I either have a broken wire, faulty switch or corrosion someplace. Anyone have any ideas where I might start?
Cheers

You could be right with all of these, start at the boot for the switch and wires that run to the roof. But if you can't get the boot open, I don't think you will be able to access those parts :(

The boot control is from the BSI module and the signal from the boot switch can be checked here with the lexia tool. This could help you decide if its the BSI, the handle switch or the unlock solenoid without having to open the boot.

The lexia topic is here.

There is a manual boot release latch and its shown in this video

Thanks for the pointers C2driver52…slight update since I posted. After opening the back doors I can now open the boot normally! Very odd.

Quite possibly a coincidence because its still an intermittent fault.
