Yes, this is correct functioning of a BSI that is not paired (everything but starting works).robdoc888+ wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 5:13 am The ebay one in and the ignition worked ok- so turning on the dashboard ! The central locking and the internal light came alive..
The horn worked and the lights came on as I wanted.
After 5 mins or so the car went into Economy mode but from this it looks like its the Original Bsi Unit at fault..
You can swap a paired engine ECU, key and BSI into the car and reprogram it for the model its now in.robdoc888+ wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 5:13 am Im planning on ringing BBA Reman this morning and arranging to send my ORIGINAL Bsi to them ... unless anyone has any better ideas?
Or, you try to repair your BSI with the ebay donor power board and keep your original processor board (which has the pairing). You wiuld have to assume the fault is on the BSI power board. (some info on the BSI board swap repair trick.
Or, put the original one back in and wonder why it all just started working
