Hey.

I currently doing some total overhaul to the brake and suspension of the car. 2002 C3 1.6i. I was wondering if anyone knows where can find brake shields /brake dust shields/ brake back plates for the back. They seem to go by many names and i just cannot find specific one for c3. Part number or somelink would be useful.
I was wanting to renew it since i will renew disks and pads. Im not sure how relevant this is since it doesnt cover all the back part, but i thought might be a good decision since it protects new disks to at least some degree from dust. Old ones are originals and as you might imagine it is quite corroded.

Hi Andreasautumnus

On my data the 2002 C3 1.6 petrol is listed as having drum brakes for the rear using the TRW/LUCAS system.

Can you see the part you need in the diagram below and if so, what number is it?

Let me know if you definitely have rear discs and I can have a look for a similar diagram that covers the rear discs.

Number 6 in the diagram above?

Not really a part to change in the brake service.

Rub it down, kill any rust and add a couple of layers of Satin Black would do the job.

This part is going to be a Citroen or breakers job.

If you don't live near either you can try Desira Parts https://desiraparts.com/ they post internationally.

Don't expect it to be cheap though.

The next might be to contact some of the breakers on Ebay and see if they will put some up for sale. You will probably find the breakers will want to sell you the whole brake caliper but that might be cheaper than a new shield.

The rear discs are only fitted to the 1.6l (petrol or diesel) versions of the C2, C3 or Pluriel. Smaller engine capacities (1.1, 1.4) have drums on the rear.
