Hi I have a 2002 52 plate Citroën c3 exclusive with climate control, I was driving it the other day when hew blower went to max and wont switch off, all the other controls are working, Vents, temp etc. but I cannot adjust the fan speed or switch the blowers off, also my outside temp reading is showing 20 deg c even though its the middle of winter and it has not been warmer than 2 deg c I don't know if this could be part of the problem. the only way I have to switch the blowers of is by pulling the blower fuse.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi andy

The blower on max, could be due to the Heater Resistor (eBay link), there are several different types fitted on various years and models of the C3. This post has a picture on the heater resistor location so you can look to see which one you have fitted by removing it and comparing it with the ones in the link above.

The outside air temperature is taken from the sensor on the drivers wing mirror and this post shows a picture of the sensor visible on the mirror and some information about the sensor.

Hi thanks for the reply,

I hope it is the resistor pack as it seams a relatively straight forward fix . I will have to get the torch and screwdrivers out next weekend. as for the temp sensor the sensor is in the wing mirror and was working prior to the recent cold snap, when it starts saying it was 21 deg c even though it was 2 dec c out side, im wondering perhaps I have a bit of moisture inside the mirror causing a short, it did this a while back when it had been raining heavily but sorted itself out after a few days when it got drier. if I need to replace this sensor how do I get into the mirror and is it a easy job to do as I don't want to have to take it to the garage, I have already thrown enough money at it :)

Just A quick update if anyone is following this, I bought a resistor pack off ebay for 27.00 mine was a plastic box with a huge heat sink on, it appears that the part no don't have to be exact just as long as they look the same, anyway it is held in place with 1 torx screw, I put the new one in and pluged in the 2 cables and started the ignition with my fingers crossed and hay presto my blowers are working properly thanks to the help on here
