Hey
I've had it come up twice (once per trip) that the battery warning light comes on, followed with 3 beeps, then goes off again. I've had little success finding out what it's supposed to mean.
I've measured the voltage from the battery and it's a steady 12,49V.
Anyone have a clue?

Hello Oskardp
A few questions for you first, when you say you measured the battery voltage at 12.49 volts, was this with the engine running?
If the engine was off, can you safely measure the voltage with the engine running at idle and also with at say 2,500 - 3,000 rpm?
With the engine off, can you check the condition of the alternator belt and also the belt tension? Condition is fairly self explanatory, look for signs of wear, fraying - especially at the edges, cracks and splits. To check the tension, press the belt firmly on a long section between two of the pulleys, it should feel firm with only a small deflection when you press.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Sounds intermittent, so you may have a loose connector or something similar that only shows up under certain conditions.Oskardp wrote:I've had it come up twice (once per trip) that the battery warning light comes on, followed with 3 beeps, then goes off again.
When you tested the voltage, this was when the fault had cleared? (no more beeps or flashing). You need to capture the voltage while the fault is present to get a better idea of what the voltage was at the time of the fault indication.
You can use a plug in meter for the cigarette lighter socket (on ebay) to monitor the voltage as it happens.

Flashing battery is a charge/no charge fault. Could be a bad alternator or wiring sort of fault.I've had little success finding out what it's supposed to mean.
