IMy woes of new C3 ownership continues as it has now been found that the ECU connection is corroded due to water getting in (explains why only the passenger side screen washer was 'sealed' to the bonnet....both are now though!). Seems water has at some point seeped into the connection and corroded the pins which explains why I kept getting a misfire and now wont run properly at all. The bit for this post is that the battery cover is missing (explains why it got wet anyway but dont know why its missing). Can anyone put me onto the correct battery cover, its for a 2007 1.4 petrol C3. Looked on Ebay, not found one and emailed local breakers , no joy there (although they list quite a few C3 in stock for breaking!).
Currently ECU being sent to a specialist repairer to see if ECU can be saved or if I will have to stump up for a new one (they would transfer settings etc across from old one). So much for a cheap car, but dont have much options now, cant drive it to sell so only option is to carry on and get it repaired, shame as its in such good condition otherwise and was happy with it. Looks like it will be a keeper for a long while once it gets sorted.

It is always worth popping the bonnet of any car you buy. Missing covers is a good sign it has been taken apart and not put back together properly. Check you have all the keys you should have, the jack, the spare and the tools. You should have a service schedule, a manual a key card. There should also be a service historyRaggy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 1:15 pm IMy woes of new C3 ownership continues as it has now been found that the ECU connection is corroded due to water getting in (explains why only the passenger side screen washer was 'sealed' to the bonnet....both are now though!). The battery cover protects the Engine ECU and the power steering ECU connections from moisture.
