There is not a power steering bottle or fluid or pump on the C3.
The Citroen C3 power steering is electronic.
There is unlikely to be anything loose under the bonnet unless it has been poorly refitted in the past. Buy it would be easy to test for loose parts by trying to move them manually with the bonnet up.
Common noises are suspension and top of the suspension strut is near the bonnet.

If you are talking about the spherical container on the wheel arch inside the engine bay in front of the driver, that is the cooling system expansion tank. If you cant pull it off the wheel arch, then its secure enough.Neilcmusic1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 8:52 pm im thinking that its the steering fluid bottle as it appears very loose ,
As C3CAR says check the upper shock mount at the top of the wheel arch under the bonnet. If you can move it at all, it's broken.

the noise is coming from inside the car. there is a definite thud between the instrument cluster and the windscreen , ive even placed my hand on it and something is hitting the underside. I know the instrument cluster lights are changed from the underside , however how can I actually remove the cluster (speedo etc) im convinced that if I can do this then I will be able to see what is hitting the plastic.,
Thanks for help
Neil

Yes. There is nowhere to grab but just use the resistance of your finger tips on the surface and pull it straight out. The retaining clips are on the bottom edge, just pay more attention there. Then there are 3 Torx head screws (T20) holding the cluster in place. This is what you will find behind the cluster. The electrical loom goes up to the the tweeter. The cylindrical structure, at the bottom is the air duct for the drivers side air vent. The metallic plate on the fire wall is the upper mount for the steering column (I think).Neilcmusic1 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 4:52 pm Im assuming from the photo that you just remove the surround , and remove screws ?
