Whilst parking into a spot in a carpark on Dartmoor, there was a hidden hole which made a bit of a bang on the bottom of the car. This bit sticking out in the photo is the result. Any ideas on what it is, or if I need to do anything about it? It seems to function the same. There is another one on the other side that is also exposed, but not with cracked plastic around it. The car is a 2012 (62) Citroen picasso c3. Thanks.

Hello Jim282

Can you add a photo of the one that's not busted? So I can see what it looks like.

Also identify where on the car it is? front, back etc so I can look at the right diagram to try and identify what it is for.

I do know that Citroen don't fit things for fun, so it had a purpose at one time.

It's almost exactly half way down the car. Where the front door ends and the back door starts. It's about 10 cm in from edge. I have uploaded the one from the other side which looks similar, but with a shield.

Thanks for the extra info.

I can't see the part on any of my diagrams

I will dig a bit deeper to see if I can find it. Maybe it's one of those things that is specific to a particular model as it does look a bit of an afterthought.

Thanks. Yes, I had a poke around but can't see what it actually does. There are no warning lights on, funny sounds etc - maybe it's a case of getting the duck tape out and crossing my fingers 8-) .
