Well.. all the electrics have gone nuts.. windows, indicators and display have gone now.. poor thing the engine seems fine.. except the leak which seems to be coming from somewhere near the oil filter probe point

I'll have to stop driving around in it now..

New battery does nothing, new abs sensors, replaced relevant fuses etc.. checked some wiring but my disability's stopping me..
So the question is.. Do I spend £120 on an investigation or cut my losses?

Damn electrics.. ☹️

I'm getting a diesel 205 next if I give up😂 I can fix them myself

Sounds like a water leak on the BSI module. Not uncommon, has happened before.

Oh yeh.. I thought it couldn't be the bsi because nothing in the cab had gone wonky.. only stuff on the front loom

Although I had it in mind, my far too big daughter could have hoofed it quite hard throwing a tantrum..

I hadn't been able to get it out of it's cage..
Would I just lift it and pull the top forward?
I didn't want to tug too hard in case I broke something..

These are programmed to the specific car on one board right?

Not specific to the car as such, but paired to the keys and engine ECU.

So a replacement BSI would need the matching donor keys and engine ECU.

The Odometer will match to the higher of the miles of the two.

You may need to program the donor BSI to the different features of the recipient car.

So I had someone look and they say everything's pointing to the abs module..

Rather expensive for repair/ reprogram/ labour..

I've seen a few posts on here describing success simply swapping abs modules with matching numbers with no programming..
If from the same vehicle..

I wonder how likely is success in this case?

Has anyone done this or managed to replace one? Any info would be useful..

Is there a difference between the mk60 vs mk70 in terms of need for programming and how would i tell if it was a match?

Someone said it depends which program they used to program it so could be a bit sketchy?

Any info would be helpful please.. I'm in unknown territory

I can't see how the ABS module is "screwing up all the electrics" and yet the engine runs fine?

Very complicated signals run through the ABS module to and from the engine ECU!! If you "lost" the ABS ECU the engine will not start!!

I can only postulate that there is damage to some part of the BSI not associated with the engine bay CAN BUS? But might effect the dash and window power supply? WATER/CORROSION of the BSI?

By the way your BIO says 2002-2005 car but it's a 2007 model?? It's very important to inform us what year your car is. BIG changes to the electrics were made in late 2005.

Asked the guy to check it he said it was fine..
Seemed to think it was the abs messing with the can..

Wants silly money so I ain't asking him again..

I'll try a matching abs module if I can find one..

Just waiting for him to send me the numbers

how close a match will I need?

I have found a few with the right numbers

one is from an HFX TU1A
but I don't know the year

what exactly would I need to match on the car?

would the ESP box or gearbox type affect the ABS module?
if it's the same part would the year matter?

I'm not sure what would matter

any help appreciated. thanks guys

ABS module is part of the ABS pump.

Have you tried to just unplug the ABS electrical connection from the module to prove that the ABS is really affecting the car?

Look on the ABS pump for the MK number to match from the same year.

Prime the ABS system with lexia tool after replacing it.
