Post

Just become a member and have read a number of posts on the subject but I was unable to find my particular issue.

Wife came in complaining that she was getting angry honks and it turns out the left indicators were not working, Green light on the dash was flashing fast but nothing on the left indicator front rear or side. The same problem when the hazard lights were switched on, again nothing on the left side. Took the BSI and sent it to BBA Reman who said it was working normally.

Did get some helpful information from the forum on the BSI unit and the Com2000 unit, (thanks for that) but the BSI is not the easiest item to work on or test due to the limited cable lengths on the plugs for the BSI unit. I am trying to check the COM2000 unit but the car only has 40k miles although it is 14 years old and the Com2000 unit feels fine with firm actions like it was new. I will still check it out as part of the investigation.

Checked the fuses all ok.
Called an Auto electrician who said it was the BSI unit. Asked BBa Reman to double check the unit again, again they say the BSI unit is fine.
Checked the BSI plug set for burnt or corroded pins. All OK
Checked under bonnet fuse box.
Checked the earth continuity from the lights and all OK
Checked the light fittings for corroded or burnt terminals although it is very unlikely all three would have a problem at the same time

Did notice that the climate control cabin fan keeps switching on and off without touching anything. Not too sure if the display goes off or just the fan.

Has anyone experience similar problems and has some guidance. Starting to pull out what little hair I have left!

Probably just easier to swap out the com2000 unit and take it from there .

Update.

Had the car into Citroen and it turns out one of the indicator bulbs had shorted out and shut the left indicators down at the BSI unit. New bulb, quick reset and on your way.
