Hi
Have you swapped out any ECUs and then this fault appeared?
What led you to connect lexia?

I second that.
Did this just pop up or is this a "new" car? That is, do you know the history of the car?
Hard to explain this with just one fault. On the surface I would say there are 2 faults (in the airbag system, forget the VAN error).
1) The connector for the pre-tensioner, under the seat, has (or has been) pulled apart. As a safety precaution all of the airbag connectors short out when disconnected. Why would it be disconnected?
2) The passenger air bag de-activation switch is faulty. These contain a resistor and the switch is known to go faulty.

The first two errors in LEXIA should be gone now.
I dont know why the pre-tensioner would show a short circuit. If it's not the connector or wiring I could only assume its the pre-tensioner it self.
Did you check the wiring under the seat? The wiring hasn't been damaged? I have seen the wiring get caught in the slider mechanism.

Further research shows the airbag module is on the VAN1 BUS. The airbag module might be faulty?
Unfortunately the VAN BUS error (shown on the LEXIA screen) is a temporary fault. Meaning it only happened once or occasionally but not all the time.

VAN1 is the vehicle area network.
It is a network of the ECUs, and not a specific unit in itself.

Sorry should have been more clear.
The Electronic Control Units (ECU's) 'talk' to each other over communication networks called buses. A bit like computer networks in an office. There are a number of buses called CAN and/or VAN.
I don't know where you can go to from here. The VAN bus error was only temporary, so disconnecting the airbag module might not change things (with respect to the VAN bus error). If the airbag module was working when you disconnect it, that wont prove anything.
You could replace the pre-tensioner but that's expensive. I could see the charge firing circuit going open circuit but I doubt it would go short circuit.
Have you disconnected the pre-tensioner connector under the seat and then re-connected it? There are two connectors. One for the side airbag and one for the pre-tensioner. One blue and one green. The green one is for the pre-tensioner.
Hmmmmm! The airbag module sits right under where people put there coffee!!!!!!! Could something have been spilled on the airbag module connector??!! Check the module connector for corrosion.
Anybody seen an old movie called "Fate is the hunter" staring Glenn Ford? If you have, you will have a chuckle. That's sad...I saw this movie in 1967!
