There were a load of different TEMIC ECUs fitted in the C3, if yours is not original then matching the numbers won't help :(

I would try looking for one that is off the same year and model C3 as yours to be as close as possible.

But you may want to do the BSI update first if its not the original Airbag ECU.

Yes car has rain sensors, it does not have automatic lights
I didn't know this. Thanks. I assumed they either had both or none :D
00James00 wrote:Ill try deactivating all airbags and doing what you suggest by individual fault finding, would this clear the light on dash board or will that always be on?
I would have thought if a part is configured out so the car doesn't know its there then it should be possible to clear any fault codes associated with it. The code may even clear itself with an on/off of the ignition. Some do, some don't.
00James00 wrote:Yeah the deactivation of passenger airbag fault has got me puzzled as it works fine according to the warning light when switched on and off.
You can look at 'live data' to see what the ECU 'sees' with regard to the switch. Its in lexia.

Missing Lincs wrote:If it helps any, our 2004 has ESP and side airbags. The airbags are in the sides of the front seats.
Looks like some do and some don't.

Your ESP is set to 'New Version' in the BSI Configuration but if you don't have ESP on the car it should be set to 'No'.
Its these sort of configuration or misconfiguration options that give phantom faults - where everything is working but faults are still recorded (and in some cases fault lights are on).
00James00 wrote:I don't understand the whole level one and level two within the airbag configuration and also the RH airbags fired not defined fault as my car does not have side airbags
I will have a look for the level 1 and level 2 for you but for the 'not defined' looks like you don't have side air bags and the ECUs are configured to look for them.

Try looking in this menu and choose Downloading :D

Download BSI software
Download BSI software

There is lots in Lexia and it take a while to get through the menu to find everything

If you get the download to BSI working, would you do some more pictures of the procedure please, they would go great in the Tips section

There is no code for the radio.
00James00 wrote:and reprogramming keys etc
No sure about the keys. It would be a good idea to have all the keys to hand if you need to link them again otherwise you can only do one key and will have do two keys later. You have lexia and it can do keys for you and there is a topic for keys which can help

But did you see it go off when you switched it off. Do a like data run on it and you will get the idea. On/Off/On/Off/On/Off

This lexia screen is of a different switch input. You can see the switch go on/off/on/off to prove the ECU can see it switch. There are other ways to see switches and you can find them in lexia but this one makes for a good demo.
switch activation viewed in lexia as ECU sees

It was already done :?:
Arfur Dent wrote:You can pick the SAC_TEMIC AIR BAG ECU up cheap on ebay - here and they are a quick swap over job.
Maybe you missed the link :(

Look through the list and find a close match by year, model, fuel - the closer the better. The less close the less likely it is to match perfectly.

But if it doesn't require the Key code then you can.

What does lexia say to you about your particular situation when you go through the menu to download BSI. Does it warn about keys and confidential code?

If it doesn't need the code for keys for your download then you just need the link I gave to reprogram existing keys to the car and no confidential code (card) is needed.
