Hi guys
Little update, managed to get bonnet open by going underneath car on the drive and using some pliers to pull over bonnet cable, success! I actually did jump the battery but with Earth on a metal mart of car rather than battery, unfortunately had to smash small window to gain access to ignition. Reset BSI and resynced key to central locking. Ran a multimeter across battery and getting average 12.3volts when car is started it goes to around 14.4volts. Re connected lexia and did manage to clear some code which worked for 1 or two as they didn't reappear but others did such as airbag, radio air conditioning, will screen shot them as saved to the laptop. Also managed to take drivers door panel off as handle no longer works to open it, don't know who put the handle together as half the surrounding plastics are snapped. Just doing job at a time, main concern is the airbag but glad you sharing this journey with you lot haha

Also wanted to add that I found a connector brown in colour behind the door panel, is this the outside temperature sensor connector

Yes. 2 pins on the black connector are used for the external temperature sensor according to the diagram in haynes. The others pins on black and brown are for heated mirror glass and electric adjustable mirrors which depend on the model.00James00 wrote:Also wanted to add that I found a connector brown in colour behind the door panel, is this the outside temperature sensor connector
Well done getting the bonnet open, shame about the window00James00 wrote:Little update, managed to get bonnet open by going underneath car on the drive and using some pliers to pull over bonnet cable, success! I actually did jump the battery but with Earth on a

Hi, it seems as if the sensor has been taking out, can i just buy a new sensor and connect it to the 2 pins in the black connector and would it automatically work? Also I need to change the key barrel as the current one just spins, can you recommend a good cheap one please along with sensor.

Yes, the alternator output sounds good, but it doesn't cover the recommendations that Missing Lincs put forward regarding the AC component of the alternator output.00James00 wrote:Does the voltage sound correct for my battery and alternator
Well, in theory, if one was fitted and the BSI was configured to accept it then it was removed and another put in its place, yes it will work.00James00 wrote:Hi, it seems as if the sensor has been taking out, can i just buy a new sensor and connect it to the 2 pins in the black connector and would it automatically work?
But you have had so many problems with the configuration, who knows if the BSI is configured to accept the sensor input? You will have to dig through lexia and the AIR CON configuration to make sure it matches what is actually in the car.
Do you have an error code for the outside air temperature sensor?
You may find this topic relevant Aircon problems: External temperature sensor on a Citroen C3
You can find quite a few of them available in this list on eBay and search for the best price.
It would be worth getting the lock barrel out to be sure the lock barrel is broken and its not any other part that is in there.00James00 wrote:Also I need to change the key barrel as the current one just spins,
This topic is for door handle removal on a C3 door handle removal on a Citroen C3 (click here) which can help you get the lock barrel out to make sure is broken and not something else.

Really trying not to confuse myself in regards to the ac dc and volts, I have a multimeter which I can use as trying to keep costs low if possible, you mind explaining a little more about these and what it means. Sorry if you've already explained but a take a while to learn.
Yeah the BSI is configured for the temperature sensor. Also on middle dash board it showes the temperature dial. Obviously with it being taking out just shows 0.
I'll try taking out lock barrel and having a look, I noticed the plastic housing from the inside handle mechanism was snapped so you could possibly be right that it still actually works.
Also when trying to configure somethings in lexia it requires a passcode, 4 or 5 digits, do I need a specific code.

It does need a topic of its own in the tips section to demonstrate how to check. Don't worry for now and if it looks like it becomes more necessary to do that testing, hopefully a tutorial in the tips will appear00James00 wrote:Really trying not to confuse myself in regards to the ac dc and volts, I have a multimeter which I can use as trying to keep costs low if possible, you mind explaining a little more about these and what it means. This is good. If you attach the sensor to the correct wires, and the rest of the loom is in place then I don't see why it wouldn't 'just work'.00James00 wrote:Yeah the BSI is configured for the temperature sensor. If you can salvage the barrel it will mean your key will still work manually in it, otherwise you will need to change all the locks or have 2 different keys.00James00 wrote:I'll try taking out lock barrel and having a look, I noticed the plastic housing from the inside handle mechanism was snapped so you could possibly be right that it still actually works.

ABS ECU00James00 wrote:

Check for poor wiring, earth and connections to the ABS ECU. Its not good for access but the Haynes Manual for the C3 (new on eBay - here) has a good diagram for the ABS so you can find which wires carry the ECU supply voltage and its earth paths.
This should clear, but may come back. Its a power fault on the display screen. You can get this if the screen is unplugged or fuses pulled. When its all back together, try to clear the code.00James00 wrote:
This is your airbag ECU fault and the one putting the air bag light on00James00 wrote:
'Not defined' could be configuration faults, the passengers air bag deactivation should clear, if it doesn't then the signal from the switch is not getting to the airbag ECU. I would double check all the air bag configuration is 100% correct for your car. So the airbag ECU is looking for all the right parts and the BSI is only looking for the parts fitted (and connected) to the car.
'ECU internal (VAN interface) not defined' looks very much like a misconfiguration.
You may also have more codes that are not on the screen and need to scroll down to get the full picture (down arrow).
Also try F5 and F6 on that screen to see what Lexia says about it all

Its tucked behind the dashboard

Hi, I'm sure the ABS fault did clear and read faults did not pick it back up. Right from this point I'll focus on my door handle lock-handle and airbags as I think I'm asking to much at once of you guys. What size rivets would you use for the door? And also what's the easiest way to get these out? Like I mentioned in my pm, when looking at airbag configuration is has an option for side airbags, this model does not have side air bags just the one in steering and in front of passenger seat and they were on active, does this mean the BSI has been changed at some point.
