Need some help.

Got a C3 SX 03 plate. After heavy nights of rain my power steering goes. The steering becomes really heavy almost impossible to turn corners. I switch the car off for about 10 mins and it returns to normal... ish. It is heavy until I pull away at which point it is normal.

This has happened a few times and the day after it happens it generally rights itself and at no point does an error come up on the car.

Does anyone know what may be cause?

TIA

I would say either the power steering motor or the power steering ECU is getting wet and causing the EPS (electric power steering) to shut down.

The errors don't normally show up on the car, use lexia or an OBD2 reader to read the codes.

Check the battery cover is fitted correctly as this also covers the EPS ECU, then check the EPS motor itself - on the steering rack.

EPS ECU is arrowed in red
