I have just bought another C3, and it does not have front fogs, just black plastic "caps" where they should go.

Can I fit the front fogs from my other C3 onto this one?

If so, is the wiring already there to do this? Is it just a case of "plugging them in"?

In regards to controls, would I be able to control them from the steering wheel stalk already fitted in the new car, or would I need to fit the one from the old car?

Hello Deltech

I added front fogs to our C3 which didn't have them, only the black covers that you have.

I didn't find any pre-fixed wiring but I was lucky enough to get hold of a Citroen fog light 'kit' which came with the lights plus wiring harness, instructions and even a little sticker to go on the stalk showing the extra functions.

Physically you can 'transplant' the lights but getting them to work may be a little more involved.

It's always worth a look to see if you do have wiring behind the covers, if not, that's the first thing to look at. The kit I got allowed me to plug directly into the engine fuse box. I didn't have to add any relays, all I did was to use Lexia to enable the fog lights.

If you're adding wiring without a harness it might be as easy to add your own circuit and a separate switch and fuse.

If your donor car isn't going to have fog lights any more you could always remove some of the wiring from there. I'm not sure if the fog light wiring is integral to the other engine wiring on models that come from the factory with fog lights, it's worth a look to see if and you could remove the wiring with the lights, or at least the connectors?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Thanks for reply.

Haven't looked to see if there's any existing wiring yet, but I will when I get a chance.

(my daughter had a Golf once without front fogs, but the wiring was in place)

If there IS wiring in place, would I be able to operate them from the existing stalk? Currently if I rotate it forwards it brings on the rear fogs, and in my other C3 there is an identical stalk which rotates forwards to operate front fogs first, then a second rotation brings on the rear fogs (rotating backwards switches off the rear fogs first, then a second rotation switches off the front fogs)

Not all the BSI units can run front fogs and not all COM units can switch fogs. Your best bet would be to connect the front fogs to any existing wiring and try to power them up with the stalk.

If they don't work, you next step is to use lexia to diagnose the stalk and BSI programming, but avoid all that if they 'just work' :D
