And the abs light has decide to light up
What should I check first?

Hi
Check the abs sensor on the side you worked on.
You can remove it from its mounting, clean the sensor and the sensor ring through the hole.
You can also trace the plug bad to behind the side repeater indicator to meter the resistance of the sensor. Look for a reading of aroud 1666K ohms for a good one.
