Can anyone shed light on this problem. I have C3 1.6 Exclusive that I bought brand new. The power fold door mirrors have worked fine for 6 years but last month the drivers stopped folding. The other one is fine.

The drivers mirror glass motor will still adjust the angle / tilt of the mirror so power is still getting to the unit. When I request the mirror to be folded or lock the doors, you can hear a whirring in the unit, but nothing happens. My questions are;

1. Is there a way that the mirror can be reset?
2. In your opinion, is the mirror only fit for the scrap yard?
3. Have I got to strip the door panel off to get to the mirror?
4. Are there any tests that I can do to make sure the mirror has had it before I strip it down?

I’m very frustrated. Any help appreciated.

Hi

If the fold back motor operates, or at least makes a noise then it has power.

If manually folding back and manually folding out doesn't reset the mechanical gears inside then I would say its broken.

Try to move the mirror by hand a few times.

Apart from that, I would say you need to replace it with another.
