Morning All :) I have a C3 1.6D 2011 and I have a clunky door. So I read the tutorial on this forum of how to replace which is all good and straight forward. I ordered a check strap from Fleebay which is the same as the pictures on the forum tutorial but the one on my car is a bigger unit, are there 2 different types of check dtrap because the main stealer what £50.00 for the one that fits my car :( Thank you in advance.

Hi

The ebay ones are not original parts, so the cost is less for aftermarket parts.

You can't compare main dealer with ebay aftermarket prices, they will always be different.

Can you take a picture of yours?

The listing for the 2011 say they match the 2002, so a picture of your may be useful to help identify it.

Follow the attach pictures to a post instructions.

If the check straps are the same (2003-2010 and 2010-) then don't buy the Ebay ones, they are cra...er...not good!
The rollers are nylon and will fail in a short period of time.
The cheapest way is to buy the straps is from Aliexpress. Look for the listings that say "genuine". Of course they aren't, but the rollers are metal and of a quality like the originals. They are about 16 pound.
Again, that's if they are the same.

It’s physically a bigger unit, the bolt threads are wider apart and the strap is longer so it just doesn’t fit. I had to re-fit it because the car is in use until I find the correct one, I didn’t take a picture of it when it was off doh…. But took a picture of it fitted but you can’t really see much.

Look up 9181K3 door strap on Aliexpress or just Citroen door strap.
There seems to be a few hits that look like they might be the same as yours.
Can't vouch for the quality. The "genuine" ones I got from that Baificar mob were OK quality.
PSA engineers don't seem to be learning that the doors can generate a great deal of force and tear the check straps apart. New design, old fault!
