Hi.can anyone help please?I'm a bit desperate. I need to drain and refill the transmission oil on my citroen c3 as I lost a little when manipulating the driveshaft to change the coil spring(accidentally pulled the shaft towards me a little)so,I believe I have the ma5 gearbox.the drain plug Is low down in the side of the transmission, not underneath.so I understand I need to completely empty and refill.only problem is,I cannot locate the beather at the top of the transmission to refill the oil once drained.do I need to remove the battery tray or air filter box ,and what does the breather actually look like?
Thanks
Jamie

Overall, its going t be easier to remove the battery tray (similar to the early cars) and the air filter box with its pipes. You only need to find the breather or even the reversing light switch to get a measured quantity oil down a pipe and into the hole.
You need to measure the right quantity before you pour and it must be into a fully drained gearbox.
You can't 'top-up' the sealed MA5 gearboxes because there is no way to measure how much oil in in there, only how much you put in.

Breather is ringed in red. On the older style petrol C3's I think you can get to it by taking the air filter out & make a long funnel out of a bit of 15mm pipe & gaffa tape a funnel to the top. Filling via the breather will amke it glug! ON diesels the battery tray needs to come out.
