The heater on my '09 Picasso barely heats up. The blower works fine, the air director flaps (or whatever it has to direct air to the chosen location) all seems to function correctly, it's just when heat is selected I can feel the temp change but it's barely warm. Looking at previous posts I suspected an airlock in the cooling system so have run the engine with the header tank open and the heater on full in the hope that it would clear. No such luck, even after 1+ hour of engine running and steam beginning to come out of the header tank, the fan didn't kick in and I didn't get a coolant temp lamp on the dash (it did show blue when I was first running though).
Should I still suspect an airlock or could it be something to do with the thermostat ? I need to get this sorted ASAP as my partner suffers with Reynards in her hands and would like to get it warm for her before I leave for work myself in the mornings.
Any advice would be sincerely appreciated by this Citroen virgin !

There is a topic here, for C3 coolant and the correct refilling procedure using a header tank to make sure it bled properly.
You shouldn't get an air lock if the system has not been disturbed.
Did the heating suddenly stop working or was this after some work on the cooling system?
Can you find the pipes in the engine bay that feed the heater matrix in the cabin and see if both of these get hot when the rest of the cooling system is hot. This can show if hot is actually making it into the cabin.

Cheers,
Have you disturbed or suspect there is a problem with the cooling sytem?
Do you have electronic climate control or 'manual' controls?
IF you believe there is no problem with the cooling system AND you have electronic climate control its probably the servo that controls the air blend flap.
