I was wondering if there was/is a solution to carry stuff on the roof on a 2009 C3 (see pic taken from this site >> ).

It seems there can be like

1) two bars (I do not have these and do not know if they exist for this model) and racks attached to them

or

2) a roof rack that clamps under where the doors close.

What is the solution if there ever was one?

These are the instructions for fitting the official Citroen C3 roof bars that also shows what you need from Citroen.

But there are aftermarket roof bars for the C3 (euro car parts) if the official version is no longer available. These use the universal clamp system as opposed to the citroen C3 specific mounting design detailed in the first link.
