Hi,
Recently purchased a used C3, which came with just the one key which unlocked and started the car fine but didn't work for the remote central locking. As the central locking button inside the car still worked I figured changing the battery was the first port of call, but after opening the fob up I found that there was no PCB inside at all - just the blade and transponder chip.
My question is whether I can replace just the missing PCB or whether I'll just have to put up with manual locking/unlocking until I can get a spare made up?
Also, will I be able to get a spare that works with the remote at an autolocksmiths or will I be limited to more of the same?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Squall-Loire
New keys can be programmed either by a dealer or you can diy if you invest in a Lexia tool and run software on a suitable laptop. You'll also need the key code for your car.
Programming just the remote isn't easy. When you buy a new key from Citroen, the code for the remote PCB is written into the immobiliser chip. Without that pre-programming the car won't recognise the remote. The key will start the car but that's all.
Citroen will however sell you just the body of the key with contents (PCB and chip) but no blade.
I would expect an experience auto locksmith to be able to sort this for you but may need a genuine key body to work with.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

Thanks for your reply
Shame, I was holding out a little bit of hope that the chip in the key (which is present & I assume correct if it starts the car) also somehow controlled the programming of the remote locking PCB so it could be replaced with a generic part, but I suppose it was a long shot.
I'll enquire at the local autolocksmiths about prices and whether they're able to work with what I've got (no original PIN card, sadly - but their website suggests they can do a lot with the VIN), or shell out to get it all sorted at the local Citroen place.
Thanks once again
