Won't select gear manually. Stays in auto

Hi new to the forum, I've a C3 1.4 petrol with an al4 box. Reverse works fine and there is limited drive forward (1500 rpm thought revs fine out of gear) after 10 mins of engine running regardless of gear the dreaded snowflake appears and will disappear of engine re-started. When you first start car it will let you select a gear usually starts 4th and you can down shift for a few seconds it then reverts to D. Any ideas or is this gonna be two to dealer for lexia?

Snowflake is a gearbox fault code present. You need to read the code with lexia, either by dealer or for a similar cost, your own Lexia clone from here. From the code you can work out what to do next.
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)
