Is there anyway to tell what valves are fitted to the gearbox, early white or later black type. Want to if possible, get them before stripping the box down. The car will only be off the road for a limited period then.
Thanks

This may be helpful to you https://citroenc3owners.com/tips-for-a-c ... t1254.html and there is room for any additional information should some arise.
From the above post:
JAGPURR wrote:The old valves at the bottom new at the top. Luckily mine are identical so no further software updates are necessary. (Therefore I can confirm that this is good news for anyone with a car 2004 or later). If your old valves have a white plastic electrical socket these are the old style and where replacing with the black Borg-Warner type you must update the software.

Hi,
There is no way to tell from looking at the box from outside. Perhaps the dealers can tell from the gearbox serial number.
Anyway you can only purchase the later type now ie. the ones with the black connector , as the white type are no longer produced.
If you or anyone else changes them please let us all know the details of the car and what you found , then we might be able eventually to assess when the change took place.
So far I can only tell you that the 04 plate has the later type.
