Hello,
I bought C3 in august last year and it has a problem it goes on 2nd gear in automatic mode and loses power, give jerks and then claw back on speed. It doesn't do that all the time but sometime on cruical turns it lets me down. It works perfectly fine in manual mode changing gears and in automatic mode the gear changing is smooth as well. I don't have lexia but a scanner told me U1118 and P0500 errors. Now the issue I'm getting is I can't find anyone in manchester who could diagnose and help me out with it. Its so frustratoring that everyone wants to back out from french cars yet there are loads of german car specialist here.
If anyone knows anyone in manchester who could diagnose and help me out with this problem. I'll be really greateful. My wife is learning on this car and the jerks makes her scared.
Thanks in advance!!

U1118 is CAN data bus, multifunction control module - no communication, so you will need more than just a OBD scanner to find that one.
and P0500 is the Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction, which could be linked to the U1118 and not just a faulty sensor.
It is a very old car and may not be worth spending money on getting it fixed if it is more complex than a sensor...

Thanks for your reply! I certainly agree that it can be worthless spending too much on it but I’m having trouble finding people who would diagnose it in Manchester.

Unfortunately the sensodrive system is a PSA product and only Citroen and Peugeot really know how to service it.
The main failure mode of the system is corrosion caused by salting of the road. Components of the clutch actuator get corroded and salt water gets into the electrical connectors. The gear change actuator tends to be very reliable.
The clutch actuator typically needs to be disassembled, cleaned and lubricated. The electrical connectors on the gearbox ECU need to be inspected and cleaned.
I believe the two error codes relate to the clutch actuator and the gearbox speed sensor. The car derives it's speed from the ABS system. The only "speed sensor" on a sensodrive car is the gearbox input speed sensor.
