Hi,
Wife's car has broke again. Car won't even turn over. Lexia informs me that the clutch isn't in the right position & the power relay is locked out. Checked the gearbox by removing the actuator & the gearbox selector isn't locked like before. It had a new cutch activator recently. I removed the gearbox ECU & it has a loud metallic rattle!
I have looked for 2nd hand ECUs on E-bay & can't find the exact one:-
Siemens SIM 82
S118475201
I can find ones with the same hardware number (HW9640922780) but not the software (SW9654956280) or S118475201 number. Can I just get & fit anyone with the same HW number? Do I need to reprogram it? Is here anything I need off the old one to trnasfer to the new one?
All help appreciated!

I wouldn't worry too much about the software/firmware version on the sticker because if it has been updated by lexia, they won't print and stick on a new sticker.
I would go for the closest HW match and do a software update on it with lexia, if necessary.
I am not aware of any extra coding to the car, but you have lexia and the car so it won't take too long to double check the gearbox ECU is talking to the BSI.
