Hi all!

so my partner has an auto c3 2010 with 65k on the clock we only bought it in march.

yesterday as she was driving along the service light came on with the "gearbox faulty" warning on the centre console  . the snowflake and s are also flashing. The warning is not on constantly and varies when it does show up.

There is NO jerking/juddering when changing gears and it will go from 1st to 4th without missing a beat. It drives spot on like it always has.

Plugged into a diagnostic and was showing 'unknown error code' and was unable to reset.

Has anyone got a solution to this? I have seen a few threads but none had a confirmation of an answer.

Cheers!

Hi

You can't diagnose this further without reading the gearbox ecu fault code. Use a lexia /digbox tool to read the code or take it to a dealer who will read the code. Make sure they tell you what the code is. 'unknown error..' is just that your code reader is not compatible with the gearbox ecu.
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)

Thanks!

Garages want anywhere from £50-£110 to diagnose and the lexia tool is only £40 to buy so will purchase one and give it a go.

Forgot to add yesterday that the cruise control is not working (has been working fine and only not since the gearbox fault) and when scanning the engine with the reader is showing cruise control speed limiter fault. I'm not sure if this is a knock on effect of the gearbox fault.

Will get a lexia and see what it comes up with.

Well, lexia does need a laptop and a fair bit of 'know how' witch computers if you are not running 32 bit windows 7

There is a topic on lexia here - Lexia and OBD diagnostics on a Citroen C3.
