Hi,
Just wanted some advicemon my Citroen c3 1.4 2003 automatic.
It keeps dropping back into 3rd gear as soon as you get to 45mph. Also the 'S' and 'snowflake' symbol appear.
Has anyone had a similar problem and know how to fix this?
Thank you.
Frankie.

Hi frankiiei2013
The car has done a fair few miles, it could be a worn solenoid in the gearbox, but let the diagnostics tell you what parts to check.
There is a post on the tools for Citroen diagnostics here Citroen C3 Diagnostics - Lexia guide
Flashing snowflake and sport on the gearbox indicate the auto box has detected a fault. Could be anything from then end of the oil life or a faulty component. You need to get the car hooked up to some diagnostics to get the reason for the 'sport and snow'.Also the 'S' and 'snowflake' symbol appear. Has anyone had a similar problem and know how to fix this?

Arfur was right, hook it in a Lexia, It's a common problem on an AL4 Transmission.
You might want to consider the following steps.
1. Transmission oil (either replace the entire 4.5 liters or check level if its recently change)
**If the same issue appears proceed with Step 2.
2. Replace main pressure regulation valve & converter pressure valve (image below)
3. If the same issue occurs, well, you need to replace the whole valve body just what i did on my C3 1.4 petrol 2003.

There is a walk through on replacing the 2 solenoid valves that give trouble in the AL4 here:
