Car is 03 plate and I changed the 2 valves in the gearbox. But the old ones were white and the new ones are black. Will these work ok.or does the g/ box ECU have to be updated. Not tried the car yet,as I need to change the oil

There are different versions of lexia, so best to upgrade to the latest version?

I have not tried updating the gearbox ecu myself, but I have done the BSI which was already on lexia, so I would expect yours to be there.

Thinking out side the box. If I update the software, would the remaining white solenoids work ok. Haven't updated the software, i'm a bit worried of turning the ecu's into brick. But took it for a run and it is 100% better, no slipping, gears changing perfectly and no warnings of any kind.

I don't know what happens if you don't or do update the software, other than citroens waring that it must be done.

Lexia does all the work, just make sure you laptop won't switch off in the middle of updating and the car battery is good enough to keep the system powered up while updating.

Thanks for the update on how the gear box is running.

Hi Deanno/Arfur, or any1 else who can help, any ideas as to where I can get my eletrovalves and gearbox oil changed for a reasonable price. I'm in the North Wales area. Many thanks in advance, Suben. C3,52 plate, auto-PRND.

There is a guide here on the forum which may help with the valves. Just do the oil after the valves (if it needs it).

Its not a difficult job, so any mechanical or competent DIYer should be able to do it by following the guide.
