Auto gearbox changes from 3rd to 4th

Hi I have just purchased a c3 2010 1.6 auto which has also got 1-4 manual gears, could anybody tell me if it's normal to have to be doing at least 35mph before it changes from 3rd to 4th? Also does the automatic only have 4 forward gears and is it normal when traveling at between 60mph and 70mph the rev counter to be at 3000rpm and be auto mode 4th gear. Thanks in advance, I have owned a auto before but it had 5 auto and manual forward gears.

You need to be more specific as to which gearbox you actually have.

Could you tell me should it have a 5th auto gear or does it only go up to 4th gear in auto mode?
