a4l full auto gearbox solenoids

hello guys , I have taken out the x2 solenoids for the gearbox and have run 24v through them both and both will make clicking sounds then putting a home made tube over the end and blowing air into the hole one seems to be blocked and the other lets air pass through even when passing volts into the solenoids , also the colour of the plus are different one is black and on is orange

I think they should both be the same. A different valve pair was fitted in production at some point which needed new software in the gearbox ECU. I wouldn't expect to see 2 types of valves mixed.

There is a topic on the valves here which gives some information on changing the the solenoid valves on the AL4.

You can pick up the valves quite cheaply on ebay compared with dealer price.
