56 plate Auto 1.6 Auto no Nuetral

Good evening im Debbie, just found this. Im at my witts end today my C3 auto 56 plate 47K on the clock ive had from new, its never let me down until today, come to get in my car i cannot select Nuetral to start the car, googled it it brought me to this page etc tried depressing the brake flr 30secs etc, no joy AA came out drained ny batt reset still wouldnt start, so now its been dumped at a garage miles away as he couldnt tow my car far,when my ignition is on its like a clicking sound coming from to bonnet, it selects D and R no peobs but not the N to start it? Has anyone any ideas? And im so glad ive found this site but one thing im confused at with what ive seen posted what is the snow and sport mode? Never know this before just wondered if i had this feature?

Snow mode is for drive in slippery conditions like... snow and

Sports mode is for changing the gears later so the engine generates more power and feels more.... sporty.

When both of these lights illuminate it is the car alerting the driver to an error condition and its time to get it looked at.


There are 2 options for automatic on the C3, a full auto 'AL4' and a sensodrive type manual box with computer controlled clutch and gear selector. Before any diagnosing can be suggested, it would be a good idea to identify the type of gearbox.
